# Support

> How to reach us, and what to include so we can help fast.

Reach us at `{{SUPPORT_CHANNEL}}`.

## Include in your message

* **The request ID.** Every response carries an `X-Request-ID` header. It lets us find the exact request.
* **Your key's prefix**, such as `chr_live_9tK2vQx7`. Never send the full key.
* **What you sent:** the method, the path and query, and the body or subscribe frame.
* **What you got back:** the status, the error `code` and `message`, or the stream close code.
* **When it happened,** with the time zone.

## Before you write

| Symptom | Check |
| - | - |
| `401 UNAUTHORIZED` | [Authentication](/get-started/authentication): the header form, and whether the key expired or was revoked |
| `429 RATE_LIMITED` | [Rate limits](/concepts/rate-limits): a retry loop without backoff, or leaked stream connections |
| `400 VALIDATION_ERROR` | The `details` list names the field and the problem |
| Stream closes with `4008` | Your client is reading too slowly. See [Connecting to streams](/streams/overview#when-the-server-closes-the-connection). |
| A number looks wrong | [Reading responses](/concepts/reading-responses): money legs, percentages on 0–100, and decimal strings |

## Security issues

Report a suspected security issue, including a leaked key, at `{{SUPPORT_CHANNEL}}`. To stop a leaked key working, see [Revoke a leaked key](/get-started/api-keys#revoke-a-leaked-key).
